About

Hi There – Welcome to my Blog!

If you do a quick inquiry on Amazon Books for the keyword “parenting,” you receive a search result of 60,000! That will probably come as no surprise to you.

As a parent, I don’t need to be the one to tell you the world of parenting can be confusing, overwhelming, frustrating, and oh-so complicated. No wonder thousands of books have been written on this topic!

But who has time to read books on parenting?

You barely have time to make your bed, take a shower, manage to feed your family dinner, and do the dishes (just to name a few) before flopping into bed at night exhausted.

Being a parent is an immeasurable gift. But oh my goodness, no one told you how difficult it would be.

Unfortunately, there is no guidebook that is handed to you along with that bundle of joy they place in your arms. There is not a book in the world that can give you all the answers.

As you have undoubtedly figured out by now, no one piece of advice will apply to any given situation. After all, what works for one, may or may not work for another.

But no matter how hard parenting can be, it is also the most wonderful, rewarding, inspiring, and life-changing experience in the world. And you are not one to be daunted by the difficulties.

You’d love to be that “perfect parent,” although realistically, you know that such a thing doesn’t exist.

Ultimately, you realize that the end goal is to raise responsible, caring, well-adjusted children. And you’d like to accomplish that while remaining true to yourself and keeping your sanity!

Your to-do list will never get 100% done.

Your child will never be perfect (and neither will you). But if you are looking for ways to be the best possible parent while dealing with your daily busyness, or if you just need some tips on how to maneuver through the toddler or teen years, well…you’ve come to the right place.

I want to arm you with practical, real-life knowledge that will help you day in and day out.

Whether it’s giving you more confidence to deal with your 3-year-old having a throw-down tantrum in the middle of the grocery store, or help with how to handle your teen who breaks curfew — and hundreds of things in-between, I want to assure you: you can do this!

The goal of my blog is not to overwhelm you or add even more to your busyness.

I’d like to give you simple, actionable, and helpful tips to make your daily life as a parent easier, more manageable, and more rewarding.

Time goes by way too fast to spend your days worrying about if you are doing everything right or according to this or that parenting “expert.”

I definitely do not claim to be an expert in any way, shape, or form.

My degree is in Marketing, not Child Development. My experience is hands-on as a veteran parent of 30 years. Whew — that’s hard to believe. I had ZERO experience when my first child was born. As a matter of fact, looking back, I was pretty clueless!

But I relied on my instincts and my deep desire to be a wonderful mom. I made mistakes — plenty of mistakes. But I learned something each time and tried to improve for the next time something similar came up.

More than anything, I made sure my children knew I was there for them.

I was there for the times they were sad or happy or mad. I don’t mean literally there all the time (impossible of course!). But I was there to listen at dinnertime, or to have that late-night talk at bedtime, or on those many drives to and from school. I focused on connecting and communicating.

Deep down I believed that if I formed a close, sincere, open, and deep relationship with each of my kids, somehow…mistakes or not…everything would work out for the best.

I guess it worked as I have 3 wonderful children who are already contributing to and making an impact on the world.

It would be my honor to share some of this tried and true experience with you. I am not here to share “theories” or pages of scientific research. I want to help any mom or parent out there to know that you are not alone.

Imagine learning tidbits of information that you can put to practical use, not only to improve your parenting, but also to be more in control of the busyness of life.
